I’m not going to dwell on the Turkish Grand Prix. Most of you will have seen what happened: I was hit by Fisichella at the first corner. Race over. There was nothing I could do to avoid him and there’s not much else to say, except that it was very frustrating.
I’m a bit gutted to register my first ‘DNF’ in F1, but you’ve got to get over such disappointments and look ahead. I’m flying back to the UK this evening and I’ll then be at the AT&T Williams factory at the start of the week to talk through Monaco, the next race on the calendar, with my engineers.
At the end of the week I’m heading to Paul Ricard to test the FW30 in high downforce trim for the first time, before making my way to Monaco on Tuesday of the following week. I am really excited about driving an F1 car through the streets of the Principality. I raced there in GP2, but F1 will be something else. I can’t wait, and let’s hope I qualify nowhere near Fisichella
